Helen Austin and Doug Cox are starting an informal weekly songwriting circle called Monday Night Song Circle at the Regier Theatre every Monday from 7 to 9 PM. Our first one was on Monday Jan 5th (and was full).
This is not a performance night and will not be open to an audience.
This is a song sharing circle for us all to talk about writing and to share our songs. It may eventually open us to a concert but not for now it won’t be.
Talk about the music business will be discouraged as much as possible, we want to keep it about the music and the craft of songwriting and discussion about writing will be encouraged!
It will be limited to 10 participants so we all get to play at least a couple of songs each. If you wish to attend, please email Helen at helen@helenaustin.com to have your name put on the list for each week.
Critiques of each other’s songs will only be offered if the person playing a song asks for them as it is meant to be a positive, supportive and safe environment for all involved.
It will be a bring-your-own refreshments or snacks kind of a thing and like all good campers, you will be asked to leave the venue as you find it.
